The production process of powder metallurgy

2022-07-28

Powder metallurgy technology has developed rapidly. With the continuous emergence of new production processes and technical equipment, it has become an important part of modern industry. The production process of powder metallurgy can be divided into five stages: powder making → mixing → forming → sintering → post-treatment.

I. Flour Making:

Powdering is the process of turning raw materials into powder. Common powdering methods include oxide reduction method, atomization method, electrolysis method, rotating electrode method, and mechanical crushing method.

Ii. Mixing Materials:

Mixing is the process of blending various required powders in a certain proportion and homogenizing them to form a powder billet. The mixing methods are divided into three types: dry type, semi-dry type and wet type. During the powder pre-mixing process, due to the different specific grits of particles with various components, segregation may occur during the powder mixing process. Tianshi powder metallurgy binder effectively improves segregation. Due to the different particle sizes in the powder, uneven distribution can easily lead to an increase in porosity. The binder can make the particles reasonably distributed, fill the pores, and enhance the strength of the compact.

Iii. Forming:

Forming is the process of loading the well-mixed material into a die and pressing it into a parison with a certain shape, size and density. The common forming methods include pressure forming at room temperature and pressure forming by heating. Tianshi powder metallurgy lubricant can effectively reduce internal and external friction, lower the loss of pressing pressure, increase the density of the pressed billet, and during the demolding process, it can reduce the demolding force, extend the service life of the mold, and ensure that the parts have a better surface finish.
